Pacinotti's ring

If in the middle of the XIX century the use of electrical generators is rather limited, a great step forward came with the invention of the "macchinetta" [little machine] by Antonio Pacinotti (1841-1912), described in 1864. Its innovative element, the rotor or induced, done in 1861, is formed by a ring of wood of 12 centimeters in diameter on which are wrapped six sections of wire covered with rubber, forming a closed circuit, properly connected to a collector. This device is both an electric engine and a dynamo. This Pacinotti's ring is a very detailed reproduction that requires to work its insertion inyo the so called inducer of the machine.
