The device is described as a backwash air ring with propeller. The ring has been lost so it is impossible to exactly figure out the complete form of the instrument. It might probably be an example of a turbofan. The headmaster that arrived just a year before, Luigi Sante Da Rios, deposited a patent on this type of propulsion propeller for airplanes so as to be affectionately called Professor pipe. |
