Two Roman-foot measure in brass
DatingBefore 1818 (XVII cent.)
This ancient tool can be seen as the equivalent of our modern well-known double decimeter. It was used to measure linees in the maps. The measure units are the Roman Palm and the Roman Foot: infact on the instrument is written on one side "Tre palmi romani" [Three Roman palms] and on the other side "Due piedi romani" [Two Roman feet].
