Concave mirror
Dating1868 - 1874
The best way to verify the images formation in a concave mirror is to empirically test them with this very simple tool. In the device 5 of the 10 brass screws are missed, but this do not affect its functionality. A mirror is obtained when the metal surface is highly polished so that for each incident ray on it only one reflected ray leaves the surface. The mirror is said concave when the surface is recessed in relation to that ideally plane: depending on the case the image of an objet given by the mirron can be inverted, real and smaller or virtual, straight and larger.
