Parabolic motion tool in wood by Dr. Miotti
DatingBefore 1818 (2nd half XVIII cent.)
MakerVincenzo Miotti (1712-1787)
With this tool, work of Vincenzo Miotti, the kinematics law of motions' composition can be verified. The material point is here approximated with a small brass ball. The ball in the fall down follows a parabolic trajectory underlined by the rings. The tool belonged to the private collection of the Abbot Traversi.
